Support Us

We are a registered charity, and rely on the financial support of members, volunteers, sponsors, as well as Friends and Patrons to help us put on exciting and attractive concerts of the highest possible artistic standards.

Our recent programming has become increasingly ambitious, embarking on really major works, commissioning new music and doing first performances of work by local and international composers. We have also brought to Cornwall some of the leading soloists in the country as well as the most exciting up-and-coming young professional singers.

The cost of a really high-quality concert venue is one of our major items of expenditure. Truro Cathedral, our usual performance place, needs no introduction as a wonderful building with an extraordinary acoustic. It holds audiences of several hundred people and offers facilities such as closed-circuit television coverage and a hearing loop. All this doesn't come cheap, but these elements contribute importantly to the quality of our concerts.

With such hefty financial commitments, we are always looking for opportunities to broaden our sources of income. Concert ticket sales on their own rarely cover our costs so we rely on a range of other funding sources. In addition to Three Spires Singers members' subscriptions, we enjoy some valuable sponsorship from local businesses, and we also receive a considerable sum each year from the Patrons and Friends of Three Spires.

There is also some income from advertising in our concert programmes and website; and from occasional fundraising events – and we work hard to make every penny count.

"The War Requiem with the Three Spires Singers and Christopher Gray was a really memorable experience and a huge achievement. The atmosphere in Truro Cathedral was magical and I think that all involved, performers and audience alike, were deeply moved by the powerful message and beautiful music of Britten's masterpiece. I felt very proud to be part of such stirring performances."
